Greetings everyone! I am Agatha the morphing Dragon. Please go an an adventure with Us!
Hello. Welcome to our channel. Today we are taking Nana's Magic Wheelchair through the layers of the Earth to see the core. In order to go places in Nana's wheelchair we have to morph our form to be smaller, and go into travel mode. Tell them about Agatha our pink morphing Dragon.
Hello Kids. I hope that Y'all are ready for an Adventure. Activate Magic Wheelchair. Let's go to a lovely spot by a water fall.
we ride the wheelchair to a spot
Before we get out, please look at Screeny, our Magic teaching screen,
This an example of the Earth's layers in a cross section that Leonardo drew. This is an example of the Earth's crust that shows water, grass, rock and dirt. This diagram shows that the Earth's crust is the outer layer. The crust is made of rock. "dirt" (or soil) is primarily made up of tiny, weathered particles of that same rock, mixed with organic matter, air, and water, created through the process of weathering and erosion of the Earth's crust, which includes the rock from the mantle that has been broken down over time. The crust has grass, trees, and bodies of water.
(get out of wheelchair and go to water)
Such a beautiful place to get a drink and stretch my wings!
talk about the beautiful water and how good it tastes
(get out of wheelchair and go to water)
. See the grass, trees, and bodies of water on the crust of the Earth. Y'all stretch Your legs, and get a drink of water before we tunnel into Momma Earth to see the inner core.
talk about the beautiful water and how good it tastes
(all loaded up)
Lock and load Kiddos, Let's go.
Y'all say activate magic wheelchair
Activate Magic Wheelchair!
We'll have to activate the drill to break open the rock of the Earth's surface to get to the mantle.
(talk about how loud the drill is)
It's going to be very hot once we get through the crust because the mantle must be very very hot to turn rock into liquid.
(anticipate the coming heat, and excitement to see the magma)
I hope that my wings don't get burned!
Look, we finally got through the crust.
(talk about how hot the air from the hole is)
We'll activate the magical see through shield so we won't get burned.
(are You sure we won't get burned?)
Don't worry, the Magic wheelchair will protect Us. Hop on, and let's go.
chattering excitedly as get on wheelchair
Please look at Screeny...
Now we are at the Earth's mantle, and this molten rock is called magma, and sometimes it erupts as lava in volcanoes. Note the diagram with a moving circle and arrow that shows where the mantle is. The crust sorta floats on on the semi solid, and partially melted magma. It must be very hot to melt rock.
Once we get through the magma in the mantle, the barometric pressure will increase so that Your ears will start to pop. Here, choose a flavor of gum because chewing gum helps ears that are popping.
talk about what kind of gum You want
Screeny time boys and girls, please pay attention.
The layers of the Earth are the crust, mantle, outer core, and inner core. This layer is the the outer core which. See the glowing and swirling a layer of the liquid metal iron and nickel. This arrow is pointing to the outer core.
Talk about how pretty the swirling silver, white, and red melted metal is
t
The swirling liquid iron and Nickle is so beautiful. I feel so lucky to see it!
Once we get through this, we'll land on the inner core.
talk about how weird Your popping ears feel.
It feels like going up in an airplane! My grape bubblegum is so delicious!
Here we are. Please look at screeny. The inner core is a solid silvery circle made out of iron, and nickel. Immense pressure is exerted on the core by the weight of the entire planet that forces the iron and nickel atoms to stay tightly packed together even though it's hotter than the melting point for these metals. This is called "pressure-induced solidification." Let's plan a science experiment day when we can make our own Earth out of playdoh to put what we learned to a project.
Talk about the pretty shiny silver ball, and how the air feels so
heavy.
We made it Kids; let's go back to the waterfall, and have a nice
swim to cool down.
It will be so nice to cool down in the water!
Excited talk about swimming, and science project.
ask to hear a song.
turn music on & start going up, slow go through layers
Here we are. Y'all go swimming, and get some exercise
after being cooped up in the Magic Wheelchair.
excited chatter and splashing water
Toodles everyone!
